We are free to visit and open to everyone, providing a warm welcome to visitors of all ages, including children and family groups.
Every Thursday take your little one on an adventure through the history of County Durham! Each half-term we will focus on a different section of The Story’s collections and exhibition. Join us in our Learning Studio at The Story as you journey through time and discover a new theme every week with your little one. Handle historical objects, hear stories, learn and play together at Small Stories.
This half term, come along and explore ‘Living Together’ in County Durham—then and now!
We’ll learn about local traditions, family life, and the ways communities came together—and think about what makes you who you are today. Through fun activities, music and crafts, discover how people lived, celebrated and made their homes.
Please note: we have recently introduced an extra session to Small Stories. The two sessions are now: Mixed age Group (Under 5s) 10:00 – 11:00 and Pre-walkers (Under 5s) 11:15 – 12:15. Tickets are priced at £2 per family (max 2 children per family).
