We are free to visit and open to everyone, providing a warm welcome to visitors of all ages, including children and family groups.
Every Thursday take your little one on an adventure through the history of County Durham! Each half-term we will focus on a different section of The Story’s collections and exhibition. Join us in our Learning Studio at The Story as you journey through time and discover a new theme every week with your little one. Handle historical objects, hear stories, learn and play together at Small Stories.
This Half Term is all about ‘Perceptions’. For the next 7 weeks discover how County Durham has grown and changed over time, from the first railways to buried stories, using imaginative play, crafts and music. All sessions require booking.
Please note: we have recently introduced an extra session to Small Stories. The two sessions are now: Mixed age Group (Under 5s) 10:00 – 11:00 and Pre-walkers (Under 5s) 11:15 – 12:15. Tickets are priced at £2 per family (max 2 children per family).
