We are free to visit and open to everyone, providing a warm welcome to visitors of all ages, including children and family groups.
Take your little one on an adventure through the history of County Durham! Each half-term we will focus on a different section of The Story’s collections and exhibition. Join us in our Learning Studio at The Story as you journey through time and discover a new theme every week with your little one. Handle historical objects, hear stories, learn and play together at Small Stories.
This Half Term is all about ‘Hidden Treasures’. For the next 6 weeks reveal glimpses into the lives of people throughout County Durham’s history, discovering unexpected items and hidden treasures using imaginative play, crafts and music. All sessions require booking.
Please note: we have recently introduced an extra session to Small Stories. The two sessions are now: Mixed Age Group (Under 5s) 09:45 – 10:45 and Pre-walkers (Under 5s) 11:15 – 12:15.
