Discover the work of Durham Photographic Society
Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February 2026 | 10:30-16:00 | Free | No booking required
The Story is hosting a showcase created by the members of Durham Photographic Society (DPS), a vibrant community of photographers who share a passion for capturing the world in all its forms. This display brings together images from across our activities, offering a glimpse into the creativity, skill and curiosity of members.
Much of the work you will see has grown out of our monthly, “Assignments,” where members head out together to explore local venues and practice new techniques. We also organise trips to major events and destinations such as the Lake District, the Edinburgh Fringe, and the Whitby Goth and Steampunk festivals, giving members the chance to photograph unique subjects and environments.
DPS regularly exhibits at notable venues, including Durham Cathedral, Newcastle Cathedral and the Durham University Botanic Garden. DPS are affiliated with the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Northern Counties Photographic Federation, and are a registered charity.
