Bringing The Story to local libraries, our People in the Pages exhibition takes you on a fascinating journey through Durham’s church registers, spotlighting stories from towns and villages around the county. Each story begins with a register and dives into the extra detail and context you can uncover with a little research.

Having started in Chester-le-Street Library, the exhibition now moves to Newton Aycliffe Library, where it will be on display until 24 October. It will go on to Seaham and Annfield Plain Libraries.

The talk at Newton Aycliffe Library will be on Thursday 16 October at 10:30.

To book, please contact 03000 269 519 or newtonayc.lib@durham.gov.uk.

We will also be popping along in person to each library to give a free talk, exploring the stories in more detail and focussing on the stories most local to that library. We will also provide hints and tips on how to get started with your own family history research.

The talk at Newton Aycliffe Library will be on Thursday 16 October at 10:30.
