A circular medal, obverse shows effigy of Queen Victoria. Reverse has inscription: ‘FOR LONG SERVICE IN THE VOLUNTEER FORCE’ on a banner with a laurel wreath behind. Edge inscribed: ‘SERGT C. CABLE. 5TH V.B. D.L.I. 1894.’ (Impressed capitals). Ribbon is plain green. Medal issued in 1894.
