British War Medal 1914-20

A circular medal, obverse shows uncrowned left-facing effigy of King George V. Reverse shows St George on horseback armed with a sword and dates ‘1914’ and ‘1918’. Edge inscription: ‘CAPT. F. A. L. GIBBON.’ (Impressed capitals). Ribbon is watered silk with royal blue edges and broad central orange stripe bordered with narrow white then black stripes.
