A circular medal, obverse show profile of Queen Victoria. Reverse shows a standing figure of the Queen placing a laurel on a kneeling Duke of Wellington. Inscription round the edge: ‘TO THE BRITISH ARMY’ and ‘1793-1814’ at the foot. Edge inscription: ‘WILLIAM SLACK, 68TH FOOT’ (Impressed capitals). Has 2 medal clasps: ‘NIVELLE’ and ‘VITTORIA’. Ribbon is crimson edged with dark blue.
