Letter from W.H.D. Longstaffe, Darlington, to M.A. Denham, remarking that he is in correspondence with Cuthbert Sharp relating to pedigrees, and that he has not found any connections to the Denham family; enclosing two pieces of northern poetry which Mickleton has preserved in his manuscript Cosins Library, Durham) which show the feelings of some of the liberated monasteries at the dissolution; quoting lines referring to the Prior of Finchale; mentioning a seal made by Mr. Hedley which he uses to seal his correspondence, and which is a copy of the seal belonging to ‘Ralph the Farrier of the Bishoprick of Durham’, 1 April 1848 – From:Letters to Michael Aislabie Denham, William Hylton Dyer Longstaffe
