Biographical notes to accompany a replica silhouette of Richard Williams, M.D. (1788 – 1847) surgeon of the 68th Durham Light Infantry, which was copied in April 1924, at Montreal, from the original silhouette made in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, c. 1832, and presented to Lieutenant-Colonel A.E. Irvine and the officers of the 1st Battalion, The Durham Light Infantry by William George Hinds, the grandson, by paternal and maternal descent, of Lieutenant-Colonel Richard Williams, M.D., and Lieutenant and Adjutant John Hinds, Montreal, Canada, 24 May 1924 – From: Battalions, Records created or inherited by 1st Battalion (Regular), 1st Battalion, 1919 – 1939
