Topic: Significant People, Local History
Delivery: In school or in house
Students use interactive storytelling to learn about the life and work of Tom Lamb and use archives and local studies to explore comparisons and differences between his life and theirs, and how history is recorded in County Durham locality using art, archives and artefacts. Through this, the children will have a broad appreciation of how life in Durham has changed, Tom Lamb as a significant person, and why he is important in the story of Durham.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe what life was like for Tom Lamb and miners in the past using sources.
- To create artwork involving posing/still life in the style of Tom Lamb
