A circular medal, obverse shows effigy of King George V. Reverse has inscription: ‘FOR BRAVERY IN THE FIELD’ topped by royal cypher and crown and with laurel wreath around. Edge has inscription: ‘7566 CPL E. HART. 3/DURH:L.I.’ (Impressed capitals). Scroll suspension bar. Ribbon has five central narrow stripes of white, red, white, red, white and broad blue edges. Military Medal was awarded to Corporal Edward Hart, 7566, 3rd Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, in 1916 for bravery on the Western Front. Associated person: Hart, Edward (service number: 7566)
