The Story
Located on the outskirts of Durham City, The Story combines Georgian grandeur with state-of-the-art modern facilities. Ceremonies are conducted in the recently restored Grade II listed manor house. There are three ceremony rooms on the ground floor, which are easily accessible. You can also choose to have your ceremony on the Grand Staircase. All of our locations provide a romantic setting for weddings, ceremonies and renewing of vows.

The Register Office
Our couple and two witnesses ceremonies take place on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. It is a simple legal wedding lasting approximately ten minutes involving just yourselves and two witnesses.
The Manor Room
The Manor Room is available on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. This smaller but elegant room has feature windows providing excellent light, neutral tones to compliment any theme, a golden chandelier, period fire place and our timeless chiavari chairs.
The Grand Staircase
The Grand Staircase is available every day. The staircase offers a different and unique format for a smaller ceremony. The sweeping staircase with chandelier and period features has neutral tones to compliment any theme.
The Oswald Room
The Oswald Room is available every day. This larger elegant room has feature windows providing excellent light, neutral tones to compliment any theme, golden chandeliers, period fire place and our timeless chiavari chairs.
The Durham Room
The Durham Room is available every day. This is our largest room and has feature windows providing excellent light, neutral tones to compliment any theme, golden chandeliers, period fire place and our timeless chiavari chairs.
